He Was “Freakish” And “Horrifying” To Look At So He Suffered On His Own For Too Long

*Every time Phoenix is discussed within the news or has his photo shared, it comes with a warning label. Yes, he doesn’t appear as if the “average” dog. But he's not a freak and he's not suffering. He’s just different. But finally, because of wonderful people that refused to seem away, he’s safe! this is often his story!

The stray dog that has been dubbed by locals as “freakish” and “horrifying” has finally been saved by rescuers. consistent with news outlets, the dog now named Phoenix, is so scary to seem at that he’s been ignored time and time again. People have reportedly run faraway from him while he suffered on his own, on the streets.

While we understand his face is upsetting to seem at, his disfigurement is thru no fault of his own.
Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue says that Phoenix has been scavenging for food within the Collinsville, Oklahoma area for quite a while . But people, rather than getting him the assistance he needed, they only looked away. Finally, someone progressed and called the rescue organization. They described the dog and pled for help.

Heartbreaking! The saddest thing of all was that Phoenix was once someone’s dog but they did not look after him and this is often the result .
The rescue group shared from KOTV- News On 6:

“PHOENIX WILL RISE: These pictures are tough to seem at… but don’t shy away . The wonderful folks with Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue are working to rescue this poor baby for days within the Collinsville area… and that they finally have him!
Phoenix has been wagging his tail and giving kisses while getting the care he needs and deserves.”
It is still uncertain what exactly happened to Phoenix. He will forever be scarred, inside and out, but at some point , once he's tolerably , he’ll make an exquisite addition to a loving family.

Phoenix, since the day he was rescued, has been in elation . He wags his tail constantly. He has no aggression or maybe fear of humans. He’s a cheerful dog. And again, he has no concept his appearance is what many would consider grotesque. He’s just a dog, eager to live a far better life.

We are so happy the rescue group stepped up and eventually saved his life!

Also, for anyone questioning this doggy-warrior’s quality of life, the rescue group posted this. Isn’t he incredible? check out all those tail wags!
Here is an update from the rescue group:

Hey guys! Just a touch update about me! ❤️🐾

“I went into surgery today and that they took several biopsies of my skin lesions to undertake to work out exactly what’s happening . My doctors say I presumably have an autoimmune disorder , but they aren’t sure which one yet. i used to be neutered and chipped today at an equivalent time so I’m officially a SPACAR dog! 😍

I am doing GREAT after surgery because of the amazing doctors at FAM! Stay tuned for more updates!

❤️❤️ Phoenix ❤️❤️”
We understand that our first instinct is to seem away because we assume Phoenix is suffering, but again, we remind you that he's not. In fact, his medical team now believes his appearance is thanks to a severe autoimmune disorder . If a toddler was suffering like this, would we ignore him and appearance away? NO!

The video below wasn't made by the rescue group but they did post it on their Facebook page and thanked Animal TV for creating it. We are sending Phoenix all of our prayers! Here’s to a cheerful life, sweet boy!
