Shelter Pup Helps His Deaf & Blind Sister Navigate Through Everyday Life

A mama dog and her eight 3-month-old puppies were sadly abandoned in rural Louisiana.

Thankfully, a sort family found them and decided to stay the mom but asked an area rescue to seek out homes for the babies. The rescue was full, in order that they contacted their partner Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe , California for help.


The rescue immediately jumped into action and made arrangements to move the litter of abandoned pups, along side 31 other puppies, to their center.

Upon arrival of the puppies, staff realized that one among the pups was different from the remainder .
Another thing they noticed is that one among Star’s littermates, Denver, decided to seem after Star as her own personal seeing-eye dog . Denver stays by Star’s side, helping her as she learns to use her other senses to maneuver her surroundings.


The two of them were rarely apart, and whenever they’re separated, Denver always comes back to Star to let her know he was there.

Since the 2 of them are inseparable, and Star relies on Denver for help, the middle is putting them up for adoption together.
Whomever adopts this adorable pair will receive training on the way to look after a special needs dog. And in fact Denver are going to be there to assist his sister as well!

“It’s special ,” Helen Woodward Adoption Services Manager Dora Dahlke stated. “We never stop learning from animals. These two really can teach us all a thing or two about sibling love and the way much we will achieve with the love of an honest friend.”
